Romain Grosjean is a Swiss born racing driver who raced under a French racing license. Winner of multiple junior racing series championships (the most notable being the 2007 Formula Three Euroseries and the 2008 GP2 Asia Series), Grosjean was also the test driver for the Renault Formula One team. In 2003, Grosjean won all ten rounds of the Swiss Formula Renault 1.6 championship, following which he moved to the French Formula Renault championship for 2004, and winning the title in 2005. Romain was included in the Renault Driver Development program, following his exploits and success in the Formula Renault series. During the winter of the 2007-08 season, Grosjean won the inaugural GP Asia series, racing for ART, with four wins. He continued to race for ART in the main season in 2008, finishing the season 4th, with 2 wins. For the 2009 season, he switched to the Addax team. After Nelson Piquet Jr. was sacked from the Renault team, Grosjean was linked with the vacant seat in Renault. Only a few days before the European Grand Prix, Grosjean was announced as the driver who would replace Piquet for the rest of the season. A French driver in a French team is all that a youing racer could ask for and the 23-year-old had just achieved that. After a lacklustre season without points, Grosjean was once again appointed for the 2010 season of F1 and it showed Renault's confidence in the young French talent.
