This incident resulted on the track being banned from hosting a Grand Prix. |  Team McLaren has won two Spanish GPs and one European GP on this circuit out of the total 7 Grands Prix held here. Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost won the Spanish GPs in 1989 and 1990 respectively whereas Mika Hakkainen won the European GP in 1997. |  Ayrton Senna earned 4 pole positions in 7 GPs.
